Hi There, We’re so glad you’ve found our corner of the internet.
Ann Agbiak Rushing, LCSW
Hi Y’all! I’m Ann (pronounced Auhn), and I’m the owner of Khamisa Counseling and Wellness.
I’d love to share a bit about my journey and what brought me to this work. My journey to becoming a mental health provider has been influenced by my life experiences. As a child, teenager, and young adult I noticed I was sensitive to many things and had many questions about feelings, humans, and the world we occupy. This curiosity led me to reading many self-help books and began my constant search for answers, which led me to the healing world. Creating spaces for others to find healing and growth has become one of the greatest privileges of my life. My love for humanity and my desire to see individuals thrive inspired me to pursue this path. I am deeply committed to helping people uncover their strengths, heal from pain, and become healthier, more empowered versions of themselves.
As a First Generation South Sudanese American I’ve worked through figuring out how to show up in spaces as my authentic self. Learning to navigate family dynamics, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and understanding my value systems in which I developed cultures. Through this process, I’ve developed tools to overcome obstacles and “crack the code” to a fulfilling, authentic life—and I’d love to guide you along your own journey.
In my practice, I take pride in creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for exploration and healing. Our first few sessions will focus on understanding who you are and identifying the things that matter most in your life. From there, we’ll co-create a customized roadmap to help you meet your goals, align with your values, and show up as the healthiest, most empowered version of yourself.
If you’re ready to embark on this journey toward self-discovery and growth, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

A Holistic approach
Do I practice what I preach in therapy? Absolutely!
I embrace all the "hippy-dippy" stuff because it works! My practice integrates Mindfulness, Meditation, Somatic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
These techniques are designed to address the mind-body-spirit connection, helping you achieve balance and mastery in every aspect of your life. By taking a holistic and personalized approach, I create a wrap-around therapy experience tailored to your unique needs.
If you're looking for a therapist who uses evidence-based and innovative techniques to support your healing journey, you're in the right place. Let's work together to create the life you deserve.
